Precocious

The Kindergarten sits
Like little Buddhas,
Coiled around the teacher's thighs;
Except for hyper-Homer,
Who thinks of the temple
Between the pillars,
And listens not to stories of:
rail splitters,
presidents,
axes,
and cherry pies.
