Poetry
by John Delonas

“Shattered scours” came
With a bang,
Through the blinds,
And skirting
The curtains
With a stitch of rain–
Before the glass
Was slammed shut.

A splitting crack
Tore and grated
The grey sandy sky,
Then crashing shallow:
Low, grumbling, distant, and gone;
As the pebbling rain
Approaches–
Exploding “iiiiiii’ s”
Too close to run between
On the cookie tin streets.
